Freedom and Healing in Christ

Demonization and Deliverance

Demonization is a term that means to have a demon and deliverance refers to the ministry of evicting demonic intruders from someone’s life. We at Freedom & Healing in Christ are aware that many fine Bible-believing Christians do not believe that Christians can have a demon or demons. Some Christians get caught up in semantics of demon possession vs. influence, harassment or demonic affliction. Setting word usage aside, unfortunately it is true that Christians can and often do have demons. Current global ministry endeavors report many cases each year in which believers were freed from demons. We at Freedom & Healing in Christ have helped hundreds (perhaps thousands) of God’s people who suffered from demonization. This has varied from mild cases to severe ones and everything in between.

It is important to note that the writers of the New Testament understood Jesus and the early disciples not to simply be engaging in spiritual warfare. The summary of these demonic encounters is called “healing” by the Gospel writers. The early church viewed deliverance as a crucial healing ministry of God. In our counseling ministry we view it in the same way. Freedom & Healing in Christ is not a deliverance ministry but because God’s word teaches us that it is a significant healing act, we deliver people of evil spirits.

Our experience here demonstrates that people who are demonized experience substantial depression, anxiety, pain, addiction, substance abuse as well as marriage problems.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
